About the Case Study Collection
This collection was named after the iconic Case Study House Program. From the mid-‘40s to the mid-‘60s, Arts & Architecture magazine invited groundbreaking architects to design efficient and innovative homes throughout Southern California.
These homes quickly became the benchmark for iconic mid-century modern architecture. The clean, geometric lines and bold colors of our cement tiles pay homage to the dynamic yet sleek designs that were prevalent in these homes.

A one-night celebration
Entering the Event
For one night in Los Angeles, we viewed the Case Study Collection as wildly imagined: as art. The juxtaposition of natural, earthy elements with bursts of contemporary colors created a visually stunning installation that echoed the essence of the collection.
From smaller vignettes to an overwhelmingly chic gallery wall, the tiles captivated guests with their bold designs and thoughtful placements.

Artisanal Details
The event took place at Los Angeles’ Subcontext, an event space already filled with Zia’s cement tile. With bites from Chloe Walsh of @chloecooks___, creative cocktails, and natural wines, every detail reflected our attention to detail and flair for fun. Ben Willett’s handcrafted wood furniture matched the artistic tone of the tile.

The energy of the event echoed the blend between practicality and style that was popularized in mid-century design.
